Wheat Stalks Class 2018

Instructor: Dave Gavin

Learn to make wheat stalks w/leaves as elements of a sculpture. Full sculpture can be completed depending on time.
Required tools: gas forge, anvil, leg vise, hand files, scrolling tongs, tongs to hold 1/8” – 3/8” round stock and 1/8” flat stock, forging hammers, small sharp cross peen hammer, grinder w/ grinder wheel, cut off wheel and sanding wheels, wire brush, brass brush, veining tool for leaves, diverging ‘V’ tool, needle nose pliers or vise grip 6LN, hand held torch (oxy propane or acetylene) & other favorite tools.
Optional tools (bring if you have them): touch mark
Safety Equipment: cotton clothing, gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, leather boots, gas welding goggles
Lunch: bring your own or go to town ~4 miles away.
