Bell Class April 2016

Class size: 8 students max.
Goal of this class is to create a bell from the clanger on up to the handle. Will also include a knot primer! Plan on a long day. Students will have the opportunity to choose from 3 handle types – over hand knot, square knot, or one of their own design. You will learn how to forge pipe, use a treadle hammer, tie a knot in round stock, and have fun with your fellow blacksmiths.
Tools: gas forge and propane, anvil, vise, grinder (sanding discs and cutoff wheel), tongs – various, and a guillotine fuller with top and bottom dies. Skill level – beyond the basics
